Chevron Aircraft Maintenance Planning Engineer

Chevron Aircraft Maintenance have an exciting opportunity for the planning of all aircraft maintenance activity at the Prestwick Facility and the support of any away from base activity being completed under Chevron Aircraft Maintenance’s (CAM) approval. Following procedures for the planning department and ensuring that all regulatory requirements are fully met and internal and external customer expectations are exceeded.

Job Responsibilities

  • Follow policies and procedures for the planning department (including work pack production and control, pre-input planning, managing customer workpacks, production and control of short term and long-term maintenance plan, production and control of task card, workpack archiving)
  • Maintain accuracy of the MRO system with regards to all planning department requirements
  • Produce and update short- and long-term maintenance plans for the Prestwick facility
  • Produce and control workpacks for Prestwick maintenance inputs and away from base CAM activities
  • Maintain and update a database of historic maintenance inputs with regards to schedule and unscheduled manhours, materials and tooling requirements
  • Support the Commercial Department with the production of quotes for new customer maintenance inputs at the Prestwick facility and away from base CAM activities
  • Manage and control the pre -input planning process ensuring any actions from the meeting are clearly minuted and allocated to owners
  • Support Base Maintenance Manager during maintenance inputs to ensure the service provided to the customer exceeds their expectations
  • Support Procurement and logistics with the provision of material and tooling preload requirements for maintenance inputs
  • Maintain awareness and knowledge of regulatory requirements and any associated changes in relation to EASA Part 145, Part M and Part 66
  • Maintain awareness and knowledge of requirements and any associated changes in relation to company health and safety policies and procedures
  • Ensure activities meet with and integrate with company requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care
  • Ad hoc project work as required within the scope of the role

Operating Environment

The role is based at the Chevron Aircraft Maintenance, Glasgow Prestwick Airport, Prestwick, KA9 2PQ.

The normal working day is between 08.00 and 16.30. 30 minutes unpaid lunch.

Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge

Qualification & Education:

  • National 5 (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Hold a relevant engineering qualification (such as a related degree, HND, HNC etc)

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Full understanding of regulatory requirements in relation to Part 145
  • Experience of setting, developing and maintaining Planning department procedures
  • Previously held a role as a Planning Engineer in an airline or MRO
  • Experience with working with MRO software
  • Previous experience of managing departmental Health & Safety compliance
